AoE3 is not a 20 buck game, it's 7 years old and I'm fairly certain it doesn't hold up nowadays. And dammit, your mention of Halo made me go search for it on Steam. I think I would buy the first Halo just to play multiplayer again. Sharpie125 I saw it at Fry's the other day.

Thought about picking it up until I saw the price: $49.99. I don't know who buys it at these prices. It's such an old game the base price should be $20-30 with sales reducing it further.
I might pick it up if it ever gets to $10 or below though. QUOTE='DraugenCP' QUOTE='Sharpie125'AoE3 is not a 20 buck game, it's 7 years old and I'm fairly certain it doesn't hold up nowadays. Sharpie125 I actually think it holds up perfectly.
I played it when it came out (still have the discs with me) and it was all right. But I've been spoiled by Company of Heroes and Starcraft, so everything else is held in high scrutiny. I also played it shortly after it came out, and then I got it again last year.
It was every bit as great as I remembered it to be. I never really liked CoH that much.prepares flame shield. QUOTE='Sharpie125' QUOTE='DraugenCP' I actually think it holds up perfectly.

But then, I never really played AoE1 or 2 (maybe you did?) so have zero connection to that property. I've always been a SC man, but that ground's already ceded to COH, so I didn't have time in there to be impressed by AoE as an RTS. Draugen i second you on COH.
I liked it at first but then the emeny forces just came out of no were and attacked my base all the time James161324 If you're playing against CPU, they are really, really unfair. Predictable, but unfair. Playing human opponents might be slightly unbalanced, but way less annoying. Humans can't micromanage the way CPUs do. In COH you almost have to first establish a main line of resistance (MLR) instead of rapidly moving your units across the map in seconds like SC.
Keep them contained in a 'corridor' you control with MG emplacements and mortars, then you surround and CRUSH that corridor with heavy armour and light vehicles. God I love that game:P.
